I hate to say this, but her parents may have actually approved of the relationship, as sick as it sounds. I’m not proud to admit this, but many years ago, when my aunt was about 30, she was getting it on with her nephew’s 15-year-old best friend. The most disturbing thing about it all, though, is that the kid’s mom encouraged the relationship and would even drop him off at my aunt’s place for visits! I love my aunt, but I have to say that if I had been the boy’s mother, she would have been behind bars!

By the way, is it just me, or do you also hear banjos playing?

I don’t watch the show & I’m well aware of who you are talking about.

This could be a few things –

1. He is not the father of the child.

2. She had sex with him and got pregnant. Depending on state laws the parents may have agreed to let them get married. The parents could have hidden the fact at who the father was & claim it was someone else.

My inlaws use to do a lot of mission trips here in the USA before my father in law had a stroke. They would often to go some place in Virgina. It was up in the mountains. Incest and young marriage was very common there. My mother in law talked about seeing young girls as young as 13 pregnant and married. It was hard to believe this happens here in the USA but that is how life is up there.

She even mentioned crazy things like babies drinking Mountain Dew in bottles. It was hard to believe all she told me but brother in laws & their families went too and shared the same stories.

Now I’m southern and we are red neck but those mountain people were way more red neck than we are.

My mother in law & a sister in law cried one night after seeing a young girl who was pregnant. She was only about 12. My sister in law was insisting she would call and report it to CPS or the police but she found out the police & CPS were already well aware of what was going on. They too lived that way. It was like that area was frozen in time.

That is sarcastic of course, but also advice I think everyone needs to follow: If you don’t watch programs like this and never talk about them, they wither away and die like the drivel they are. Don’t you see what the TV networks are doing? They’re feeding on your hate! They don’t make good shows anymore because those cost money and people don’t rant and rave about them on the internet. Give shows like this the “Damnatio memoriae” treatment: They never existed and their names erased from history.
