Why do conservatives bring it up every election then?

For the last year, they’ve been trying to out piss each other on who is a tougher badass about abortion.

Then all of a sudden, when they’re trying to get votes from normal people, we’re supposed to ignore all the crazy things they say.

Very few people, but there are lots of people who can actually believe more than one thing is important. I know the TV keeps demanding the political conversation be only about the economy, but they don’t get to choose.

I don’t. What I think is important about this discussion is bringing to light how the Republican Party has become so extreme; their official platform says absolutely no exceptions for abortions, including rape, incest or health of the mother.

I think they are both important. I think Republican views on the economy are just as wrong as their views on abortion. The kind of thinking that claims women’s bodies naturally prevent pregnancy while enduring rape is the same kind of thinking that believes trickle down economics works.

Obviously the economy is more important, which is why conservatives need to shelve the issue for a more appropriate time. They are the ones that are trying so hard to ban it.
