How do atheists talk about Jesus all the time even though they think he’s imaginary? They must think hes some sort of Ghost thats haunting them or something. Dont worry, all you have to do is get a pampers cruisers, get a baby bottle and go in the fetal position and maybe the scary ghost will go away

Answer by october skies

because they accept him in their heart, they have him take over their lives.

They hope that by being Jesus’ buddy, he won’t make them do what he says. You know, that stuff about loving your enemies, feeding the hungry, etc. Pals shouldn’t have to do that stuff.

I do not know what your relationship is with your mother, but millions of people over the past 2000 and more have loved and respected their mother. They have learned valuable lessons on how to live a life that reflects God’s love for us. Our mothers love us and we return that love and respect.

That is the same kind of relationship that exists between millions of us and Jesus.

Thanks for your interest. I hope your relationship with your mother, and with Jesus Christ, improves as you mature.

To have a personal relationship with someone means you are close to him and know specific things about him. It is different than having a general knowledge of someone, like knowledge you would have out of a book on, say, Abraham Lincoln. One can know about Abraham Lincoln, but he doesn’t have a personal relationship with him. In the history of the Christian Church, having a personal relationship with God only began with Jesus. God is not human, and therefore to describe relationships with Him before he became man as “personal” is incorrect. Only God the Son became man, and therefore the human word “personal” has real meaning and substance. We can’t apply human words to God and believe that they really mean anything.

The beginning of a personal relationship with Jesus begins with faith in what He has done. One is then baptized into His death and resurrection (Romans 6) and receives the Holy Spirit. He then communes with Christ through His Holy Body and Blood in Holy Communion (John 6). A man in becoming a disciple of Christ must walk as Christ walked and live as Christ lived. This is impossible for the normal (natural) man, since Christ told us to love even our enemies as we love ourselves. He commanded His followers to love one another as He has loved us, and He loved us to the death. So one must have power, mercy, grace, to do this. It is by this love we will be known as Christians. It is having this love that is the litmus test of our discipleship to Christ (John 13:35). Calling out to Christ daily in prayer, receiving Holy Communion, struggling to love your neighbor, struggling to become like God, and knowing that you are changing, seeing that your becoming merciful and loving, is to have relationship. You begin to know God because he is working in you and changing you, and you know He knows you because you begin to see yourself for what you really are when you pray to Him.

How do people have a relationship with Jesus?

Call upon Jesus in prayer and…

1. Acknowledge or realize you are a sinner to Him.

2. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins.

3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and take control of your life.

4. Believe He died for your sins so that you can get into Heaven and out of Hell.

To keep that relationship:

1. Study the Bible in prayer and apply it to your life.

2. Attend a good Bible believing church.

3. Spread the gospel. You can leave tracts in public, witness online and or in person.

4. Pray to the Lord and praise Him with good worship music every day.

5. Give to the poor.

6. Do everything for the Lord. Make your life a living sacrifice to Him.

7. Love the Lord and love all other people (making sure you forgive them, too).

Special Note: Also, we are under the New Covenant (within the New Testament), so only the moral laws of the Old Testament apply to Christians (The Cultural Laws and the Judicial Laws don’t apply for the Christian because Jesus fulfilled the law when He died on the cross).
