Mary was not special. She was just a tool God used just like he uses pastor nowadays so Mary is just a vessel. Jesus in not God, he is the son of God and when he prayed, he prayed to his Father (God). “Woman” was not a disrespectful word at that time.

Many Christians do not pray to Mary. We respect her because she was blessed to be the mother of our Savior but we do not believe that she has any power. Catholics are the only ones who pray to Mary. When Jesus prayed on the cross He was speaking to God the Father.

First off, when Jesus refers to Mother Mary as “woman” He is declaring that Mary is the new Eve, that mary will now become the mother of all humanity. This is a mention of profound respect and importance, for it is the fulfillment of the scriptures on account of the Fall of our first mother.
It is also important to point out that when Jesus prayed, His humanity was acting from Him, He was praying to His Father in Heaven, but as you suggest, He and the Father are one, with one will.
I can tell you one thing for sure, that Jesus never prayed the “Our Father” He could only teach it, but could not say it, because He was in fact one with the Father, and praying to himself would be counterproductive.
Hope this helped.

He called her woman because He is her God. Also true Christians don’t pray to Mary, Jesus prayed to the Father he is not the Father, for God is three separate individual persons of One Divine substance.
