babies dont have the skilz to pronounce anything
they just copy sounds they ofter hear “mama/dada”
dada just is a ton easier to say than mama when ur a wee-babe

It probably has to do with the sounds they are first able to make. The “m” sound (as in mother) is very easy to make.
Something that I’ve always found strange is that the word for “mother” starts with an m sound in almost every language!
